Unset Destinations

"Destinations change with Decisions" this quote is used to illustrate the importance of a simple decision. Also I tend to think of it as an emphasis to the common scientific law that every action has an equal  and opposite reaction. Being a young person in the 21st century, I was driven to do what I do by a list of a very few motivational factors. These are making a lot of money, live in an expensive lavish home, drive amazing European cars, dine in the most exquisite of restaurants and settle down with a lovely hard-working wife that has her own ambitions and goals and sire a few very beautiful babies(This was a fact for me before I was woke, now all I want to do is bring some significant change to my immediate community and environment and if the money comes well and good) I used to think that I had all my future figured out immediately after campus,I was to get a job for two years, save a bit of money then resign and go on to start a business and voila! my future was s

The Golden Goose

Have you ever paused for a second just to think what your golden goose is?For instance for a farmer it is his farm, for a cab driver it is her car and for a business the almighty customer(No pun intended here because the customer is the one who pays salaries and allows growth through purchases)To illustrate this I will give the story of The Goose that Laid Golden Eggs.It is said that there once was a poor couple living in the hills of Scotland. One day a visitor came and presented to them a goose and just told them to take care of it as if it was their own child after which they would rip massive benefits, they were surprised at this gesture because no one ever seemed to care about them not even to say hello but this stranger gave them this gift which happened to be the only thing he had to his name. In all their desperation the father being the head of their home suggested that they should slaughter it to have their immediate gratification of getting food, however, the wife

A Night Out

Going out and partying has become such a defining aspect of Nairobi's youth that it is slowly turning into a culture accepted even by parents to an extent where they finance the night life for their tender young ones. All these has been used to ensure safety for their kids and also make sure that all these 'fun' is had in a controlled environment. As for us the grown ups who have to save our money to go out once or twice every month it is a whole different ball game.We go out because we need to unwind,we go out because we have nothing more to do for entertainment and we go out because we want to drink our problems away because from the increased cost of living to the dismal returns on fixed savings as a grown up you have to deal with the psychological demands. These aside though we have a good time and this is my story. This was a Friday,I rarely keep calm on these days because it always means the end of the work week and the beginning of my time alone with family and frie

Proactive or Reactive?

As usual on this day I woke up to a very beautiful morning with my affirmations in my mind and tongue.Normally am always an excited soul but today was particularly special for me because i was set to get a proper job and i would get to show up to the office with my special lucky ties and my not so expensive suits that i was proud of, having saved for them for a while. I was getting ready to go apply and collect my NSSF and NHIF cards, to me these were the start of independence not really financially but physically from the dependence on my folks and psychologically to my path towards all my dreams and goals as well as my one way ticket to adulthood and responsibilities. At some point as i was taking a shower it hit me that officially my folks will allow me to parent myself. Being the new technologically improved Kenya I would easily access these medical insurance and retirement benefits cards from our existing government services hubs famously known as Huduma Centers. Based on how

The Science

There is a saying that states 'People  will forget what you said but they will never forget how you made them feel' This is true to all human beings because it comes from our genetic coding brought about by years of evolution. To illustrate this during the stone age the homo erectus and the earlier sapiens were driven by the need to eat, conquer and procreate, however, in today's world we are driven by love, happiness and the need to leave a mark before passing on to the after life. Since we are living in the modern times businesses should buckle up and try to ride this wave of human emotions and take advantage of the times. From the above quote I will give an example of a man who consistently nurtures and natures, his wife and kids in truth and in spirit as the holy texts require, he will not demand respect or love or loyalty, he will rather command them all, which goes without saying since he has earned them. More-so if a Business wants to thrive and flourish rather th

What's customer service? That's the first question i ask myself every single time I interact with a business on a personal level or my fellow human being whether its the first time we are indulging or its a frequent one on one or should we say one on many whichever applies. In this fast paced evolving world of today, social skills and interactions dominate at every level, for example job interviews have changed for most predominantly successful companies, they apply the use of social media detectives as well as using psychological analysis methods before, on and after the interviews. They do this in order to ensure that they obtain the best out of the very important human aspect of doing business thus affecting their company principles and ideals positively leading to an emotional connection to their customer which increases sales and profitability. By this I stand with most companies that do this because hey! we live in a world where make-up is used to cover up the ugly t
